About us

Welcome to the Friends of Willow Farm

Parents and Friends Association

Who are we?

We are a small group parents and local supporters of the school who put together a range of social events to raise funds for the benefit of the school.

What do we do?

We spend the funds we raise on additional equipment for the classroom, sports development and activities to broaden the children’s learning experience at school. In recent years the PFA has provided, or contributed towards, the following items for the school:

  • Part funded school trips and theatre workshops to make parental contributions lower.
  • The wooden story telling area
  • Contribution towards new play equipment including the  pirate ship, train and playground markings
  • The tyre play areas
  • Playtime equipment including balls and skipping ropes
  • Board games for wet playtimes
  • Christmas crackers at school Christmas dinner

As well as providing funds for the school, the events we organise are a lot of fun and enjoyed by parents and their friends as well as the children.

How do we do it?

The PFA operates on a very informal basis. We meet a few times a term – usually over a glass of wine at The Gedling Inn to discuss ideas for events and to organise them as they approach. We typically hold one or two fundraising events per term.

Many events involve the children such as:

  • School discos
  • Grandparents day
  • Christmas Fair
  • Santa / Mother’s Day
  • Summer BBQ

and some are just for the parents such as:

  • Fashion show
  • Quiz Nights

New ideas for events are always welcome and we are always keen to meet and involve new people.  New parents say that getting involved with the PFA has helped them get to know parents and teachers and feel more settled at the school.

The current Chairperson of the PFA is Kimberley Clarke.  If you would like to contact her then please do so at chairperson@friendsofwillowfarm.co.uk
